7 Hours in London?

A few days after Christmas I will have a 9 hour layover at Heathrow. I've never been to London. Any suggestions on what I should do? I'm in my mid 20s. Maybe a cool area to go? One or two sights to see? Should I take the Heathrow Express or the Underground?
