What's the best way to travel around the UK?

I would travel by train mostly since it is faster and very picturesque. Buses are good for local transportation within a city. It's also not that big of a deal to drive in the UK. I rented a car at London Heathrow and drove to Nottingham to visit a friend. The roundabouts are interesting, but you can probably manage driving if you want to see more country. I drove from London to Nottingham and then to Edinburgh over several days. Very manageable. |
