Travel Info Which is the main town on the isle of skye? Travel Tips Portree is the main town on Skye, though it's fairly disappointing, and is definetly not a true representation of the rest of the island, the harbour area is nice though. The same can be said about broadford. The're fine for your base, but you won't want to spend the day there. kylakin the village near the bridge is nicer. make sure you visit Sleat ' its the garden of skye' and is very green compared to the rest of the island, the further north you go the browner the island gets. Skye is a beautiful island, you'll have a great time. Others Portree Portree or Broadford.......I think the latter Portree, however it's not one of Scotland's prettiest towns and to be honest there's not a lot there. |
