According to my experience of living in Paris for more than one year, the Parisians are generally quite cold. They tend to mind their own business and avoid bothering other people, French or not.I felt that they are shy to speak English and it certainly helps if you can speak some French.It simply pleases them and they won't hesitate to pay you compliment on your French thus start a conversation.( And then you'll find out their English is much better than your French )I thought it's easier if you try to be very polite and friendly since I felt they can be easily offended. But it's actually the way it is anywhere in the world, isn't it? |
