Travel Tips
Museums are free on the first sunday of each month, which is good news for your wallet but may make them a bit more crowded than you'd like.

Before going, think about what you want to see and do - there's no point in trying to see EVERYTHING in the Louvre for example. What do you have in mind? A stroll past the Seine? A bit of culture and romance? Some retail therapy?

Then decide on your transport - I like using the Metro, but would recommend having a look at the map and already deciding on which stops to get off before you go. Alternatively, you can take one of those hop-on hop-off buses. But you see the best of Paris when walking.

Guide books will tell you that the essential sites are: Notre Dame, Bastille, Louvre, Champs Elys茅es, the Eiffel Tower etc. etc. etc.

Personally I would pick two museums at most, a park, a quartier (St. Germain, Marais) and a nice place to have lunch. Source(s): Metro Map: http://www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan_ang...
