We are visiting Sicily in May '06 and would like ideas of good hotels & restaurants. We have been to Sicily before and this time we are planning on concentrating on Northern Sicily, from Trapani to Taormina. We will be staying 10 or 11 days.

Travel Tips
I live in Sicily in the City of Catania, its 50 Km south of Taormina. If you are traveling on a budget then becareful of Taormina its the most expensive city in Sicily. Dinner is about 100 euro for two, and Hotels are about 250 per night. Palermo is a dump, good luck! Trapani has many great places go to the city of Erice its on the hills north of Trapani. The salt fields in Marsala are good. Campo di Orlando is great too. The idea place is to go to Milazzo, hop a hydrofoil to Vulcano and relax in the mud pits, then onto Trapani, and Stromboli both cool places. Hotels are everywhere so you can find something on the low end from 60 euro a night to high end 400 euro (5-star) The best hotels (five Star) are in Taormina and just on the beach below in a city called Giradini Naxos (many 5-star hotels very pricy) |
