It's not VERY gay friendly, it's still Texas, but it's acceptable. There's a good sized gay population, but not too many "gay" establishments.

in texas, it is probably the most gay friendly there is. when i lived there i knew plenty of people who were gay and they loved it there. but austin is also like most other cities. you have parts that are more gay-friendly than others.
Austin is very gay friendly. Lived there for thirteen years and loved every minute of it.
