I live in frankfurt as of monday-any advice on finding work,learning german, meeting people,etc?

Hi I used to live in Hanau, Germany (which is about a 1/2 hour from Frankfurt and the home of the infamous Grimm's Brothers). You shouldn't have too many problems meeting people or learning German because there are many Americans over there (serving in the military, etc) and also most Germans know enough English to help you out. Considering that there are so many people that know English there, you should have no problem meeting friends who can also teach you German. Many jobs over there look for people who know both languages so perhaps in the meantime you can get one of those audio cd's and begin learning or once you get there search around and find someone who might know some classes that you could take.I don't know how possible it is but you might be able to find work on one of the American posts too. I lived there for about three years and it is truly a beautiful country. If I had the opportunity I would gladly move back there so I am sure that you will have a great experience.
