Travel Info I am traveling to Belgium in the summer, anyone know of great places to visit??? Travel Tips http://www.visitflanders.co.uk/historic_... Welcome to Belgium! :-) Hugo. Others Brugge! We loved it. It's a quaint medival town and very beautiful - I liked it better than Brussels. It's called Venice of the north. Take a canal trip and try to visit a chocolate factory and sample some chocolates as well. Also go to the marketplace on Saturday. They also have a lace making centre where the famous belgian bobbin laces are made (you can see them making it). The is a large church - belfry tower which gives a beautiful view from top of the city. You can also buy some beautiful tapestry there. Check out this site for more - http://www.trabel.com/brugge.htm... Check these: Brussels of course(lots of things to see there, Dinant (where the Saxophone was invented), Namur (citadel), Bouillon (awesome castel from the Crusade times), Beauraing (if you are religious), Bastogne (of course), Antwerp & Brugges (awesome cities) Brugge and Gent, two of the most medieval town in Europe! Belgium is a great place to visit in the summer. We have lots of beautiful art cities, all close to each other and easy to reach by train. They offer history, culture, great food (much better than in France !) and great shopping. Bruges is simply wonderful, as is Brussels, Antwerp (wonderful shopping !), Leuven, Gent and Mechelen. Do look at the website www.visitflanders.com. Come to Belgium and you will not be disappointed ! |
