Travel Tips
Hello from Belgium!!

Yes, 650 Euros will be plenty so long as hotel and flight are already paid. It will totally depend on what he wants to do. There are wonderful restaurants in Brussels where he can eat dinner for 15-40 Euros depending on his taste and selections. There are tons of takeaway sandwich shops in town as well as pita ("snack") shops which make for super cheap lunch options at about 5 Euros. If breakfast is not included in his hotel, there are places all over the city where one can grab a pastry and a coffee for a few Euros.

To search for restaurants by cuisine, price, etc, he can search on www.resto.be

If he'd like to travel around Belgium, train fares are pretty cheap inside the country. He can go to www.b-rail.be to check prices. Brugges, Ghent, and Antwerp are all great cities to visit from Brussels (in that order of preference in my opinion). The first two are excellent examples of a preserved medieval city. Brugges is quaint with coffee shops, canals, and gothic architecture. Ghent is a younger canal city with more shopping, restaurants, etc. A round trip train ticket from Brussels is maybe 12-18 Euros to either city.

If he's coming in July, another bonus, it's SALES month which happens only twice a year in this country. So, if he has a hankering for any souvenir shopping, this will be a big help on his wallet.

As for a beerfest, I bet you that it will be free. They usually are. Then he'll only need to pay for whatever he eats and drinks!! Make sure he tries Belgian french fries ("frites") which are world famous (and very cheap!). Of course there are a million famous beers but I'm sure the festival will cover that.

Other possible costs: A taxi around Brussels runs between 7 and 15 Euros. A daily ticket for the public transport system (bus, trams, and subway) is about 3 Euros. Or one can buy a 10 ride pass for about 10 Euros. Public transport in the city is very good and it should be very easy to get around. A train from the Brussels airport to Brussels downtown is about 3 Euros. A taxi from the airport to downtown is between 30-40 Euros.

All prices I mention are within Brussels. Typically, in other parts of Belgium, you can expect things to be slightly less.

Hope that helps and that he has a wonderful time.

J.B.

Yes, 拢450 shall last him well past 4 days. The beer in belgium is actually much cheaper than it is here and i suspect your husband will get along just fine there - with money left over!
Depends on how much beer he wants to drink. Belgium is not cheap nor expensive. He should be alright, but make sure he takes his cashcard with him and can remember the PIN when he is...well, when he has had a few drinks.

it should do depending on what he is going for, budget roughly 鈧?00 per day, that usually is ok to survive in most countries, not sure about belgium though!!
These sort of questions are difficult because there are so many variables.

I'm going to assume that he'll be in Brussels because that is the most expensive city in Belgium. A primary expense will be for lodging. He should be able to find a nice hotel for under 100袆 a night.

Will he be flying in? If so, the cost of a taxi drive from the airport to the center is approx 30袆.

Once in Brussels there is good public transport. A ticket costs 1.40袆.

A decent meal in a good restaurant should cost around 25-30袆. There is also a lot of quite cheap "fast food". The Belgians invented "French Fries" and serve them with a mayonnaise type sauce...very tasty...from street stands called "fritures."

I hope that helps.
depends how many women he picks up!
