Things to do and visit in Brussels.? |
Travel Info I will be in Brussels for 3 days, do you know what are the hot places to see and visit. I am staying at the center of Brussels. Travel Tips All of the above are great suggestions. Also be aware that Brussels is an incredible place for having lots of free public events spread out throughout the town (and surrounding areas) all the time. My teenage daughter is forever attending free music events and shows. Also Brussels has a really good public transport system you pay 1.50 euro and travel anywhere you like for an hour even if you change from bus to tram to Metro. Ask your hotel concierge or the tourist bureau about local events. I also recommend taking a short organised tour around the city first thing (it's a good idea anywhere you visit). That way you get a flavour of the area and a quick overview of things you might want to explore further (& the ones you can give a miss). Your concierge can organise this for you as well. Also one of my favourite activities in any European city is to pick a busy square, sit in an outdoor cafe (even if it's cold), drink coffee (wine or bier), speak to everyone and watch the world go by. I know it doesn't sound much, but I've met loads of people, observed some really amusing things and made some fabulous memories! Others Beer Circus is a must for a few drinks. http://www.tripadvisor.com/attraction_re... http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/45c4... First of all the Grand Place (don't miss at 10 p.m. a light and music show), the Manneken Piss(a statue of a Little boy-it has a nice legend about), the Atomium, the old and wonderful churches and palaces and, the last but not the least (I saw you have money),eat chocolate and go to "La Mort subite" and drink the 500 sorts of different beers. Go see the Atonium. It was built for the World Fair of 1956 . The Market Square , and his famous " Manneken Pis " " Le petit rue boucher " where they have all the nice restaurants . and don`t miss " Theater Toone " ask when your at the Market Square where you can find it . A lot of people speak English . " Palais de la Justice " very old . I can go on and on ........you will enjoy it very much . In Brussels of course see the Market Square and the surrounding area with nice restaurants, shops, pubs,... Enjoy the good food and drinks. There are some interesting musea, check http://www.brusselsmuseums.be But there is much more than Brussels in Belgium, and it is a very little country. So take at least 1 day to visit some of the historical cities. The most important are Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp. They all have direct train connection from all 3 big train stations of Brussels (Nord, Central and midi; min. 2 connections/hour, max. 30min. to 1hour traveling). These cities are smaller but have a lot of nice old buildings, and very interesting musea! http://www.brusselsmuseums.be http://www.bonifacius.be/engels/beziensw... Bruges (Brugge) http://www.bonifacius.be/engels/gent.htm... Ghent (Gent) http://www.bonifacius.be/engels/antwerpe... Antwerp (Antwerpen) |
