it is always at the end of Feb. sometimes at the beginning of March.

2006 is going to start at Feb 25th till March 1st.

note that it is actually a whole month in major cities. during that month there are many events.

one warning though- this is a very violent month- two year ago, more then 90 people died during Carnival month only in Rio. I鈥檓 not saying don鈥檛 go, just be ware of the risks.

It is amazing though.
