What is the effect of the 2006 World Cup on tourism in Germany? |
Travel Info What is the effect of the 2006 World Cup on tourism in Germany? Travel Tips Who cares? ! Others i dont care but i would like to be there It's a big boost. Here it is: http://www.businessweek.com/investor/con... They have set up super brothels to accommodate all the men seeking female companionship (i.e. a good time) I don麓t think that the effect is so big, but maybe more people will see now, that Germany is not only "Hofbr盲uhaus" and "Oktoberfest". This year, there came many people to watch the World Cup, but I麓m sure they won麓t come back to Germany next year. Hotels say, before the World Cup started, there were less guests there, then all over the last years. I guess we will see the effect first in two or three years! Soccer is a very big hype over in Europe. We just don't get it in the States. I was in Berlin the week before the World Cup & there's World Cup & soccer paraphenilia being sold EVERYWHERE! Certain roads were already being closed off & there's increased security throughout the city to accommodate all of the visiting teams, staff, & spectators. Berlin is not one of the most picturesque cities in Europe since most of historic Berlin was destroyed during the war & the days of the Berlin Wall. It has been rapidly growing & changing, and now resembles New York City. With a brand new department store (new equivalent of an American mall) & railway station, Berlin is attracting more & more people to its evolving culture. I thought the city was pretty neat, but I only spent two days there. |
