I have been there twice via cruise ship. Its a nice island for beaches. Pretty pink sand beaches, all open to the public. There is about a days' worth of sightseeing, from downtown to the Dock Yard at the other end of the island. Traveling on the island is very nice and efficient. You can buy a transportation pass that allows you unlimited use of the busses and ferrys for the number of days you have on the pass. The bus service is regular and quick and will drop you right at the beach stops.

Its not the type place where you will spend a week, unless you want to spend most of the time on the beaches. A 5 or 6 day cruise to Bermuda is the best way.
