Travel Tips Try minor cathedral cities, which have beautiful old quarters and often great ambiance -- Lincoln, Durham, Wells, similar cities. Nice towns, pleasant to walk, great architecture. Then also there are great landscapes that are wilder and unexpectedly desolate--Dartmoor is amazing, almost anywhere in Scotland north of Glasgow... Others Cumbria is a good place to visit in the UK, it's often overlooked for the more well known tourist attractions, but in truth it's one of the most beautiful regions in the whole of the UK (especially the lake district of Cumbria).
