Which is the best place to live around or in Birmingham? |
Travel Info In terms of less crime, nice people & area (green & quiet), convienent in access roads, etc, shops Travel Tips Obviously if money is no object then Knowle, Solihull central or Sutton Four Oaks. Second best would be Moseley, (but the schools are terrible) some parts of Edgbaston, then Hall Green (but not in the council estate) or Kings Heath (again, not in the council estate - you just can't get away from them in Bimringham!) or Kings Norton and Stirchley have some nice areas but are further out. I live in Acocks Green which is a good compromise, bordering Solihull and Hall Green with 2 train stations nearby, not too far from the city, big houses, decent vibrant shopping centre, very cosmopolitan with a big mix of ethnic backgrounds, not had any problems with crime myself, and you can get into the Primary schools in Solihull and the local secondary school is rated 'outstanding'. Places to seriously avoid - Handworth (not Handsworth Wood which id different) Kitts Green, Shard End, Erdington, Hodge Hill, Alum Rock, Sparkbrook, Nechells, Lozells, Northfield.Which Birmingham? erm.. about 100 miles south. The nicer suburbs and surrounding towns include Edgbaston, Sutton Coldfield and Solihull from the top of my head. Sutton coldfield? hockley , suttton colefield , lichfield, hollywood, solihull |
