Travel Info I am new to Birmingham(UK). Please tell me what are the nice places to visit in B'ham(no night clubs plz). Travel Tips alot of the places are mentioned above but overall it is the second largest city so thats something to go by, and u definately wont get bored! good luck :) ps im from bham, Others Any clubs outside that sh**hole of a place. Try a trip down Soho road Handsworth. It's a delightful place with people shooting here & there in the hustle & bustle. There's Asians & West Indian cultures who thoroughly love one another. There's loads of Halal restaurants & your very safe having a night out here! Museum and Art Gallery - fascinating Aston Hall - Jacobean mansion in the middle of the city Jewellery Quarter - interesting look at industrial past Sarehole Mill - inspired Tolkein Brindleyplace - restaurants, bars, etc by the canalside Sea Life Centre - sharks and stingrays and stuff Canon Hill Park - nice for a picnic or whatever Millennium Point - lots of interesting stuff, IMAX, etc Bullring and markets - worth a look round Mailbox - shops, restaurants, etc Broad Street - not just nightclubs Sutton Park - largest nature reserve in Europe Why not try the illegal "BLUES". You can have a great time in these places all drinks 拢2.00, smoke or buy Ganga, all rooms are lit by a 25 watt bulb if you are not known and a man you may get a new face, or the excitement of being held down and your belongings taken. Blues clubs are all over Birmingham but the best ones are in Handsworth, Lozels,The Alkazar in Soho Rd if you're a Yardie or a Hoe. There is Handsworth Park but you may get Mugged, The Bull Ring for shopping, The Jewelery Quarter The Gold domed Mosque in Soho Rd. Colemore row at night is pretty with the trees lit up, The pub in Dudley where it's all lopsided (a strange experience.} Add these to Nectar's list: Shows and concerts at theatres, Symphony Hall, NIA, NEC. Black Country Museum and Canal Tunnel. Severn Valley Railway. Clent Hills. Lickey Hills, Kinver Edge. Bodenham Arboretum. Botanical Gardens. Cathedrals at Worcester and Lichfield. Lots of great National Trust places: Back-to backs( city centre), Baddesley Clinton, Packwood House, Coughton Court, Hanbury Hall. For longer trips out: Dudmaston Hall, Ironbridge Gorge and museums, Cannock Chase, Shropshire Hills, Cosford RAF aerospace museum (free!). I could go on but you'll pick up more yourself. Most of the above are within an hour of central Brum. Birmingham is a great place to live and a great base for getting out and about. museum? the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley. bloody marvy. |
