Travel Info I am moving to Birmingham, any ideas of where to live in this city? What about Walsall? Travel Tips Go to Sutton Coldfield- nice area Don't go to Handsworth or Aston Walsall is ok Others Their is a good area of walsall and a nasty area. Walsall is racist in many parts, not to say that every one living their is. North birmingham is the nicest, try sutton coldfeild, nice area. Parts of harbourne also, DONT move to sparkbrook, sparkhill, small heath, balsal heath, hockley, all are infested with rats that ran from town when the old bullring was knocked down, also is a rank place to live in because of the people, lots of immigrants, crime rate is high in these areas. Pype hayes is a nice part, but the kids have an attitude. Acocks green, hall green, some parts of shirley, solihull are very sort after and are nice areas, as is yardley wood and parts of billsley. my aunt lives in Walsall by Kingstanding on Dulwich Road and thats a nice area- she says it is quiet there - she did mention a bad part though - another nice area is where I grew up in West Heath - its still nice there - there are the lickey hills - lots of nice pubs and carverys. I wished I was there right now. I have not been back for 6 years . bournville is nice too I grew up there and keep close tabs on the place Walsall is actual a medium sized town several miles from Birmingham city. Housing and areas in Birmingham is varied so is a good idea to do some research. Depends what you are looking for and what you are used to and your reasons for coming i.e study/work.... Central website for Birmingham City Council is www.birmingham.gov.uk and you may be able to get a link from there. Alternatively maybe the Nation Students Union not sure of the web address... Might even be under NUS National Union Of Students. Happy hunting, can help some more if knew more reguarding what suits you. Welcome to mail me. I prefer to live just outside Birmingham on the southwest side. Try the A456 out of Brum towards Kidderminster and in an arc from Bromsgrove to Kiddy. There are lots of pleasant Worcestershire villages within reach of Brum. I live in Halesowen, a town on the very edge of the conurbation so there are fields and National Trust Clent Hills within walking distance. Yet I can drive to Rowley station and get a train into Brum in 30/40 minutes. Harboune.!!!! |
