Parking in Brighton?

Travel Info
Have a bad feeling about the answer to this question but here goes! Am driving to Brighton tomorrow with my partner for a bit of shopping, is there any free parking? If so where? don't mind doing a bit of walking but no more than 45 mins. If not where is the cheapest place to park and how much will it cost?

Travel Tips
You can park for free at the upper end of john st (near the police station) it takes about 10mins to walk to the lanes and 20 mins to churchill square shopping centre. don't bother with the parking buildings - they are very very expensive - except maybe the one at the marina which as above i think is still free.

have a look at this map:

Head for the main centre, and follow signs when u get to big roundabout facing seafront, and turn right follow signs for Parking, or at this time of year (off peak) sea front parking wouldn't be too badly priced
I cant help with parking but be very careful where you do park............best bet park out of town rotingdean.. or somewhere and get the bus ............
I find the best and safest place to park is in the Churchill multi story car park behind The Grand Hotel. Its not the cheapest by any means but its soooo conveniant and close to the shops.I hope this is of some help.
I agree with Emma b. You should be able to find parking in the centre (though it may take a while) there are signs all over the place. You shouldn't have to walk for 45minutes though!! if you do, you've pretty much left the city!!
not sure if its still free, but the multi storey car park down the marina might still be free. It will eventually become pay and display, as the ASDA car park there is now no longer free, but last I knew the multi storey is still ok.
i have just work in Brighton last week head for old pier turn right ncp underground carpark in the old green..happy shoping..
