What is Bath like to visit? Is it nicer than Bristol for a tourist?

Travel Info
I hear Bath and Bristol are near each other. Which one is best?

Travel Tips
Hi Roger

I've always preferred Bristol for its vibrant cultural scene, (a gig in town, some Shakespeare at the Tobacco dock, a curry in Easton), pretty riverside walks, great restaurants, and friendly locals. Bristol's also really handy for some lovely seaside towns -- Portishead and Weston are a short hop and worth a visit.

Bath probably has more to offer to the traditional sightseer, but you'll probably be herded around the famous spa and have to queue up to get your photo taken at the Crescents.

Having said that, it is possible to enjoy both. Go to Bath in the morning, then stay over in Bristol. You'll have a great night out!

Cheers
Alex
