Travel Info Can you recommend a good hotel in Cancun? Travel Tips It depends on what you are looking for in a hotel. I really like the Royal Resort Chain in Cancun. http://www.royalresorts.com/royal.stm...... Out of all of them I suggest the Royal Sands (then the Royal Caribbean, Royal Mayan, and then Royal Islander). In all honesty- you can't go wrong with any of them. Why are they good? They aren't hotel units but condo/suite units. You have plenty of room and a kitchen and a living area. This makes it easy to make sandwiches or keep your coronas cold in the frig. When we went to Cancun (I was with my husband and two other couples- all in our 20's)- the first night we were there we went to Costco and Walmart. We bought lots of beer and alcohol (the rooms have blenders). We drank them through out the week. We also bought snack food for the beach and some milk and cereal for breakfast. This really saved us money on all our alchohol costs and let us have a few cheap drinks before we headed out on the town. All the resorts have restaurants that are good, and all the resorts are on the main strip. This make catching the bus (cheapest way to travel in Cancun ($0.80) and everyone takes it). The bus hits all the major bars and Points of Interest in town. The only reason why I rate the Sands higher is that it is closer into the heart of Cancun. But the other hotels are my no means "far". These hotels are more expensive because they aren't standard hotel rooms. The room are LARGE and also are right on the ocean and you can walk straight to the beach.
