Do all Welsh people simply dry their dishes without rinsing the soap off them first? |
Travel Info Or is this unique to the three Welsh people I happen to know? Travel Tips my husband is a Welshman and when I lived over in the UK for almost 5 years he rinsed his soap off the dishes, then we went to his brothers house( whom is a well to do doctor) I was shocked to notice after a nice dinner he did the washing up as he called it and filled the sink and washed the dishes and just put them in the drain without rinsing them off. Later that night I asked my husband why his brother didn't rinse off the dishes he said I don't know, thats what some people do. I told husband Yuck I really don't want to get diarrhea from soapy dishes or Tea cups. So I have seen it before, I didn't make a big deal of it just kept it under wraps till we left the Doctors house. Yikes is all I have to say. Great family too so yes I have to say I have seen this sort of thing happen. But I believe it is not just the Welsh that do this Others Heh heh.Funny. What!!!! I'm from Wales and what you say is actually racist! What are you talking about,???Im welsh havent got a clue what you're on about. A little bit of soap won't hurt you. Possibly this is from a time when the rinse water would be less sanitary than the soapy water. Rinsing the dish would therefore just make it germy again. Then again, they may just be pulling a joke on you. I think it is unique to the three people you know. WOW! I would've never guessed that I'd be sharing this simple info with anyone else. It must true because I met 2 Welsh ladies on an Earthwatch trip once, and they DIDN'T rinse the soap off. It bothered me alot...because I didn't want to eat soap residue. In fact, I rinsed the dishes again when they went to bed. |
