What part of Ireland would be most interesting to a nine year old boy?

Travel Info
I would like to go to Ireland with my husband and my son, but all the tours seem to be geared to adults. Also the accomodations seem to generally be for two people in a room and of course I need for all of us to be together. So I guess I actually have several problems to solve. I would love to find a travel agent who had intimate knowledge of Ireland to give me advice and help me figure out what won't be boring to my son. I'm thinking some type of Castle tour with some time in Dublin thrown in....any help out there?

Travel Tips
Dublin has a few options, included an interactive Viking center called Dublina near Christ church (close to the city center). There is the Harry Potter like library in Trinity College. Something as simple as a double decker bus ride works too.

I suspect a 9 year would enjoy the west coast of Ireland, you can mix it up with beaches and castles if you plan carefully.

Anyway this book "Take the Kids to Ireland" is well worth the investment. Here is the link on Amazon...

Others
personally I would leave the sprog home. There are several castles in the west (Bunratty in claire does shows & meals etc.) In Tralee there is an interactive ride in the town centre that might be fun for him. He might enjoy the Guiness tour. Riding a train through the west. Seeing Fungi the dolphin in Dingle bay. He might like seeing the sheep.
Contact Bord failte they will have a listing of family type accomadation.
good luck.
