Travel Info I'm going on a cruise in August.. is the carnival cruise line a lot of fun? Travel Tips If this is your first cruise, you should have a very enjoyable time. I used to take Carnival all the time. I've been on 5-6 . The only thing I really dislike is the lack of variety over the years. The activities haven't changed much over the years, and the shows don't really appeal to me. But this is coming from someone who is hard to please & doesn't care for the whole tourist atmosphere anymore. My friends and family love them, so don't get scared from my initial comments. It's a great value since your meals are included. One advantage about cruises nowadays is that you can choose your excursions online ahead of time rather than wait until you are on the ship & try getting one at the same time everyone else is. You can also pay for the gratuities ahead of time (so all you need to bring is money for cocktails and souveniers). There are activities geared for all ages. I prefer to play bingo with the old folks, but after a few drinks I'd do karaoke. The clubs inside play a variety of music to suit everyone's taste. The meals at dinner are cool, but if you don't like a formal sitting, you can always go for the buffet on the Lido deck...or order room service. It's a nice option if you've had a long hectic day & need to unwind at your own pace. Well I'm sure everyone on here will tell you the same...that you'll have a great time. Just don't overdo it on the liquor (or keep plenty water nearby...hangovers on vacations are not fun). Have a great trip:) Others I went on a carnival cruise a year ago...my fist and only time so far. I was excited because everyone told me that I would love it and have so much fun and that the food was amazing. I was very disappointed. I was bored for the most part on the ship. I had fun at the places we stopped, but the activities on the ship weren't any fun and the food wasn't that great. Maybe I just got unlucky and picked the wrong ship...I don't know. I do want to go on another cruise though...different ship this time and see if its any better. Modified 11 months ago yeah i went on one last year and am going on one next week and i loved it If it's your first cruise and you have nothing to compare with, sure Carnival is good, but I would DEFINITELY reccommend Royal Caribbean. The food is better, rooms larger, service more friendly, ships nicer... So I would sail with RCL without a doubt. |
