What's the best cruise / cruise line for singles over 40?

Travel Info
All of the singles cruises I've found cater to either 1) 20 to 30-somethings; or 2) seniors. Isn't there anything in between? I'm just interested in hanging out with fun, energetic, intelligent people around my age!

Travel Tips
That is a great question....... I've suggested getting a blog together to find groups of people who want to cruise together. Carnival is very inexpensive right now, for september. http://www.halladazevacations.com/cruise... and I see a lot of our aged people mixing and migeling on there... and besides the 20-30 somethings have to go back to school / work in September. Check out the blog on that page and maybe suggest a travel group of single 40 somethings! Hope I've helped you out!

Others
Without trying to sell you anything (and just answering your question), I suggest NCL. They're average age is about 45 and they offer great ships and destinations (Hawaii is one of their specialties but they also do the Caribbean, Meixco & Alaska).

I'm not sure if you're single going with a friend or trying to go on a cruise by yourself. If you're trying to go by yourself please know that cruise lines charge for 2 people, even if only 1 is traveling. That can really add to your budget. Carnival will allow singles to book their lowest category without paying the single supplement.

Have fun!!!
I would try Royal Caribbean or Windjammer. Royal Caribbean is known to cater to a slightly more mature crowd. Windjammer on the other hand is slightly more expensive (so there goes the spring breakers), and they have theme cruises specifically for singles. It's a more laid back atmosphere, but that's easier than sitting at a formal dinner alone while everyone else is with a significant other. Good luck on your search. Hopefully you find something that suits your needs.

Sidenote - Have you ever considered taking a vacation to one island...and just renting an apartment? I know a number of people of all ages who do this & they love it. You tend to meet other single people who aren't necessarily looking for love, but just some fun in the sun. Barbados is a nice destination to do that & many people who visit come back time & time again. So if you meet some folks there in say December, chances are you may see them again if you go back. Just a thought...plus you get to experience more of the island that way (even as a single person, you can have a ball).

I am slightly over 40. Been on HAL and yes, it was old people, you might enjoy Celebrity Cruise Line. I think you will find the mix of people your age who you are looking for.
