Travel Info I am going to Cuba in June can anyone give me any advise about what is to do etc.? Travel Tips Cigar is the number one thing that comes to my mind about Cuba Others Take your dancing shoes! fantastic bars with amazing music. Swim with Dolphins on the way to visiting one of the unspoilt islands off shore, Sea sports are good - the beaches on the northen coast are beautiful Spend a few days in Havana - walk the streets Hemingway did, have a cocktail in the hotel he lived and worked in..explore the old streets and smoke a cigar whilst doing so Lastly - enjoy it all - its a very interesting and lovely place been theres, seen it, done it Definitely you have to stay in Havana for a few days, also I have to advise you it is strong the first day, take as many candies, soaps, cloth to give away as you can, they need it. Cuba is really safe, but it is wear, Tourist are almost the "owners"of the country, Cubans can not go inside of most of the places (restaurants, hotels, etc). The service is really bad, the food is also bad except for seafood. It is really interesting, because even they are in a very bad situation, Cubans have a very cool soul, and they see life in another angel than people from outside does. Definitely you should try Cuban rum, Cuban cigars... Cuba is the destination that is not meant to do shopping (except for handy craft). After Havana, you have to visit Varadero, is a completely different environment, no stress, you can swim with dolphins, do scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. But my advise is go first to Havana and then to varadero, doing it the other way is really shocking... If you are an adventure person, you are going to love it. By the way for tourist it is really safe to wonder on the streets. In Havana you should go to see the show Parisian on the Hotel Nacional, also the show of Copacabana. Go to Floridita, and take a lunch on la bodeguita, take a cocotaxi (it is really cool!) Modified 1 year ago I have been to every city in Cuba and in total I have been there 50 times the only thing to know is that the people there are extremely poor and the parents don't even have enough money to buy there kids an eraser so, bring things for the kids and give tips. There is everything there from good beaches, nice all inclusive resorts, quaint and luxury hotels, all types of museums and monuments, old towns to explore, lots of history, friendly people and no U.S. fast food restaurants to make you think you're back home. Not much variety in food, but they do good enough with what they got. Why go there to get the same as you got here in the states. Was there in 2003 and would go back ASAP if possible. |
