Am going to Cuba.. how much money should I take? |
Travel Info I understand that US dollars are / will no longer be used in Cuba, and I need to take pound sterling to convert over there to Peso's. I am staying at an All Inclusive resort (for 2 wks) with a couple of nights in Havana - does anyone have an idea of how much cash I should take to convert?? Thanks! Travel Tips Rather than naming a sum (as other have done), I would suggest you ask your travel agent. They will have a better idea of your lifestyle and entertainment expectations than will anyone here. Check out Cuba's tourism website. I'm in Canada so I went to the official tourism site (GoCuba.ca). It was terrific. Give it a try (or the UK version). When you're in Havana, don't miss the show at the Tropicana. 'Astounding' is a word that doesn't do it half justice. Have a great time!i would find out if they have ATM's there. if they do, you don't need to take as much cash then. no ATM = about 2000 pound sterling ATM = about 300 pound sterling lots - it depends on where you are staying - what you plan to do etc. maybe 1,000 pounds or more?? 拢800 is enough Take it all. Lots of people seem to have answered your 'cash' question. However, the other 'currency' is toiletries etc. To get the ABSOLUTE best service from your chambermaid etc., take loads of cheap bars of soap, small bottles of shampoo etc. These are very hard for the locals to come by, and they will LOVE you for it. Hope this helps! |
