It depends on the occupation, and if its legal or not. Lots of black-market professionals. I would guess around $20 - $30/month. I don't think anyone can go and buy a house. Everything must be approved by the state, and if they see someone getting further ahead than their neighbors, they will come and take it away. People in Cuba not all hungery and mistreated - bad stereotype.
