I'm looking for a cheap place in Cuba where I can comfortably work on a book I'm writing. Any good places? |
Travel Info Currently I'm in India working on my novel, unfortunately, I can't purchase a new plane ticket (it has a one year expiration date and cannot be extended). I'm interested on traveling down to Cuba once I return to the States. I'm searching for a place that is clean, very quiet, good weather, comfortable, safe, and costs less than $3.50/day. I also prefer staying at a hotel where a restaurant is inside so I don't have to waste time going out to eat (home cooking takes too much time and isn't worth the money saved). Does anyone have any good ideas? It could be tremendously helpful - Thanks Travel Tips Well, Ernest Hemmingway liked Havana, maybe you will too :) I seriously doubt you will find a place to stay for $3.50 a day. Look into 'casas particulares', these are cuban homes where you get your own room and can request to have meals, etc. They are a bit more expensive in Havana, probably from around $22-whatever you want to pay in terms of luxury per night. The rest of the country might be from about $15 a night, though it's harder to find a legal casa once you leave Havana. I'm heading to Havana in a few weeks myself and will be staying in a casa for a month and working on my Spanish.... looking forward to it! *if you do come up with a $3.50 a day place to stay, please let me know!!! :p lol Also, lots of casas particulares will give you a deal if you are staying for a longer period of time. I am paying $600 for one month, it was the cheapest place I found Others You'd be better off writing your question in Spanish and reposting it on the Mexican version of Answers. On this version of Answers, mostly Americans will see your question, and Americans are forbidden to travel to Cuba without special authorization. Not by the Cuban government, but by their own. By posting on the Mexican version of Answers, your question will be seen by people from Central and South America, and you're more likely to get a response from someone who has actually traveled to Cuba. |
