Travel Info Whats the best hotel in Havana. Anyone been? Travel Tips The Parque Central in Havana is the best hotel in my opinion. I stayed there last month. It's right in the centre of old Havana, and near loads of attractions. On the first night we arrived really late and were just going to go to bed, but when we opened the doors of our patio we could hear all the sounds in the street and it sounded so exciting we ended up going out. The hotel is not very "Cuban" at all. Is like any European hotel, and quite posh inside. If you want something more "authentic" then go somewhere else. Personally we found that we spent all day seeing "authentic" Cuba, and it was quite nice, after a day of hard sight-seeing, to come back to somewhere like the Parque Central. Also, it has a swimming pool and bar on the roof. Go up there for a drink and great views of the city. (In fact, there are not many places you can go in Havana for a rooftop view of the city, and at Parque Central, you have one right in your hotel) Check out http://www.tripadvisor.com/hotel_review-... for reviews of the hotel and pictures. People have voted it the best hotel in Havana The hotel is expensive, and drinks and food from the bar are expensive by UK standards, let alone Cuban, but, if you can afford it, go there! The National Hotel in Cuba is also nice (went there for a drink), and has a bit more history, but the location of Parque Central is better for a tourist. If you want something a bit cheaper, and slightly more Cuban, try the Hotel Raquel. Again a good location. We were thinking of staying there, but it was fullly booked. Not sure sorry, get sum brochures, I have stayed in Varedero in Cuba and it was wicked, we had a day trip to Havana it was nice but not as nice as I was expecting...x i stayed in the plaza and went to club tropicana, oh it was amazing!! havana is mad!!! Try Mazorra Resort and Spa. Just be careful with strong electrical circuitry. |
