Ever been to Cuba? Can some one help? |
Travel Info Okay so I want to go to Cuba for my Bday, anyone have any suggestions on were to stay, like the name of a place. Also, I'm going from Mexico City to Cuba, not the US. Anyone know how much one week would cost??? Any info would be helpful. Travel Tips Depending on where you stay, it could be easily up to $1000 USD. There is a chance that you could get caught in the Bush travel crack down if you fly back to Mexico from Cuba and then go directly back to the US. Do not bring back ANYTHING from Cuba, and destroy all of your travel recepits and tickets when you arrive back in Mexico. Also, spend a few nights in Mexico when you get back from Cuba. When re-entering the US, know that it is a felony not to list Cuba as a place you have visited or to lie to the Customs officials, but also know that if you do list it on the declaration form or tell them the truth, you will probably be fined several thousand dollars. I think many Americans simply omit Cuba from the customs form, lie to the Customs officers and simply hope they don't get caught. Speak to a travel agent for more information. Others You do realize that you will have issues with US cusoms when you come back to the USA, because they will know that you visited Cuba in violation of US embargo policy. Cuba may not stamp your passport, but US customs isn't stupid and they will ask you what countries you have visited and may even rummage through your luggage to see what you are bringing back, especially Cuban cigars and other items considered contrabands. take any vaccation packge and make sure to go atlest 4 star rating, take lots of dollar store itmes 1. If you are American...don't go. There are too many risks of getting caught by the American Gov't. 2. If your not American...then go and have a great time...Cuba is a fantastic country...I have been there 4 times. 3. If you want a crash course in Cuba..stay in Varadero for the resort aspect of it....fun...and great beaches. 4. Its a must to go see Havana...stay there a couple of nights if you can. 5. Get out to the real Cuba, visit some farmers, (bring some small gifts for them. 6. Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!! |
