Canadians Travelling to Cuba with a criminal record? |
Travel Info I am planning on goin to Cuba in February. My friend has a criminal record (one minor offence and a DWI) and I was wondering if he would still be allowed to enter Cuba? I saw a question like this for D.R and it was said that as long as one has a passport there shouldnt be any problems. Does anyone know anyone knows if this is the same for Cuba? (I asked this question earlier but forgot to mention that I am a Canadian).. Thank you to those who responded to my first question!!! Travel Tips as far as I can tell from the Canadian websites, you'll have no problem leaving the country and as far as Cuba is concerned, as long as you don't engage in criminal activity in Cuba, they do not check your record upon arrival. Just have your passport and visitor visa as required by Cuba. The visitor visa can be acquired at the airport. Others The Cuban authorities aren't going to stop you from entering their country because of a couple of misdemeanors. So your minor "criminal record" shouldn't be a problem - just be smart and don't go "confessing" you have a "criminal record" to the Cuban Customs officer and you'll do fine! As long as your friend has a valid passport, no problems at all. I live here half the year, and it's a wonderful place, with great people. Enjoy! No, he should not , they usually do not mess with foreign tourists , no matter what ... |
