Yes, the tickets are available outside most venues. There are scalpers out there everywhere. Price really depends upon the Demand and Supply. So, if you know in advance you gotta go, better run through ticketmaster, and if you missed them, or the seats you want are no longer available, you may look at secondary market ticket brokers like http://www.click4tickets.com !! If that does not work either, look at craigslist. You may find what you are looking for there. But beware of online scam artists at craigslist.
