Travel Info I wanna live in Texas so bad- i waz just wonderin if Dallas waz best? Travel Tips PBS TV-channel rated Austin as one of the top ten cities in the US to live. I have been there a number of times and I love the city. Lots to see and do. Others DALLAS Depends on what you want. Dallas and Houston are both big cities. If you like big city living, they're the best options. However, if you depend on mass transit like a lot of big cities have, you're SOL. I don't see much difference between them except that Houston has more pollution and gets hurricanes, whereas Dallas has more conservatism and gets tornadoes. Fort Worth (ok, I'm biased) is a big city without the main big city problems. Traffic is better than you'll find in Dallas or Houston. There's still some of a small town feel, but we have good shopping, a really strong cultural scene, and the other strengths like a good hospital system. And our government isn't as corrupt as Dallas. Austin is the California of Texas - very liberal, very activist, lots of high tech, lots of hippies, a very good music scene, and all sorts of interesting restaurants and shops. sorry we are closed |
