On that thay the family comes together, we have a dinner and the gifts are handed over. 25.12. is then the "first holiday" day, and 26.12 the second holiday - these days are are reserved in our family for the visit of the other family members (grandma艣, aunts family..) Others Lots of cultures do that, not just the Danes. Germans and South Americans also celebrate Christmas Eve. They do it in Europe because they are catholic ( mostly) and this evening they believe jesus was born. |
