Is Denmark a socialist country? |
Travel Info Is Denmark a socialist country? Travel Tips Denmark has a socalled social-democratic system. It is capitalist in most senses, and has become increasingly more so, with several previous state-run functions being privatized, such as telecommunications and power supply. It still adheres to some principles of equality however - or perhaps equalization. F.ex. the taxes are pretty high, and higher for higher incomes, to pay for a (mostly) free healthcare system, libraries, cheap daycare system, cheap system for taking care of the elderly etc. Like the other Nordic countries which have the same kind of system, Denmark is among the wealthiest and most competitive countries in the world. And the system is fully democratic, just like the USA; there is a queen / king, but the monarchy is only constitutional and has no real power. You can read more about Denmark on these websites: https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/fac... http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/citizensh... Others Yeah, most of Europe is socialist compared to us. Must be hell. Every country in the European Union is Socialist. no doofus, they have a king. Denmark is a constitutional monarchy. https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/fac... depends what you mean by 'Socialist' (economically, politcally or otherwise)... is it socialist like CUba NO...like Canada or Sweden....perhaps... for a better answer see Maria's.... I agree |
