Does Detroit need a Mass Transportation System? Why or why not?

I think that Detroit should consider investing in a Mass Transportation system, especially if they want to put forth a bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics. The current bus system in Detroit is not always on time and the only mass bus system it has (SMART BUS) extends into portions of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties (these are the only three counties that I am aware of that the bus system goes into).

Travel Tips
Yes, they need a better transportation system. The People Mover only goes around a small part of the downtown area. SMART buses suck.

What about your guys' "people mover"!?.
I think the government should upgrade the DPM (Detroit Poeple Mover).
