Has anyone ever vacationed to Detroit? |
Travel Info Has anyone ever vacationed to Detroit? Travel Tips I actually live about 30 minutes north of Detroit and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, right near Hart Plaza, for the weekend of the Budweiser Hoedown. I had a wonderful time and rode the people mover for the first time. It was so convenient getting from one place to another and not having to worry about where to park. I cannot wait until my trip back next year! Others My husband and I go for a long weekend to Detroit once or twice a year. We go to go gambling in the casinos and always have a good time. While we're there we also go to Canada. I have been to Detroit on holloween for Hollowicked and it was the best vacation of my life.MCL not me.. (: With the many events Detroit has hosted the past few years, I think many people have vacationed here. Even without the events as an attraction there seems to be more to do each year in Detroit and the surrounding area. Yeah I helped a good friend of mine move up there to Madison Heights, been going up o see her ever since. It's not so bad if you like the big city aspect of it. The suburbs seem to sprawl out forever(which I would recommend hanging there, seeing as how downtown Detroit isn't the best place to be, especially at night) or going over the Canadian border into Windsor. You can definitely find stuff to do. Just keep in mind that navigating Detroit can be really hard if your not used to the set ups(Michigan lefts and turnarounds, left on red's, not to mention all the one way streets.) vacationing in detroit you would definitly either hide your money or give it away to the locals, it is very stressful in detroit |
