Who else thinks Michigan should endores a law to fix pot holes? |
Travel Info Michigan has a lot of pot holes. You can't see them comming because it's hard to tell where they are, especially at night. They cause a lot of unecessary damage. Who else thinks there should be a law in patching pot holes up? Travel Tips Oh they do fix them- maybe not as quickly as we would like; just quickly enough so the roads are routinely fixed and then devestated next Winter. The better question would be as to why we don't spend a bit more on better road materials to begin with so the potholes don't occur like in many European nations. You get rid of the potholes and just think how much more unemployment there would be in Michigan- you have various government workers and private companies whose full time, year-round job is to basically fix potholes; not to mention the extra business auto garages get fixing banged up vehicles. I know Michigan's weather plays a big role in creating potholes. Another cause is all the semis we have driving on roads not made to support their weight; when's the last time you honestly saw a semi being checked at a Michigan weigh station? I also think that licensing fees for semis, along with a few other Michigan taxes, are supposed to partially be used for maintaining state roads; I could be mistaken though. Anyway, I think there is a political conspiracy to leave Michigan's roads in such terrible state. OK just kidding- or am I? Source(s): Lifelong Michigan resident. On a funnier note- my friends and I always wondered where all those orange construction barrels would be stored if there was no road construction going on; we just always assumed they are put on roads whether repairs are occuring or not because they have no storage place for all of them. Other Travel Tips Oh trust me you do no know pot holes till you live in Taunton, MA. I've lived in both MI and MA(cause my fiance is originally from MI) and trust me MA has way worse pot holes especially in Taunton. Winter is tough on roads. Towns and the state already know what has to be done. Passing a law would do what? The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Be sure to report pot holes in your area to the highway department of your town or state, depending on whose road it is. We should lighting the load of all the truck roaring thruogh. That would help a lot. Amen absolfrickinlutely!!! |
