I'm going to the dominican Republic. What's there to do?

Travel Info
besides the obvious things (swimming, tanning and drinking...)?

Travel Tips
The Dominican Republic is a beautiful Spanish speaking country in the Caribbean. We have some of the nicest beaches in the world (according to Discovery Travel), we have the highest mountain in the Caribbean, at about 10,000 feet/3,100 meters, we offer white water rafting, the best kite surfing in the region, we also have sunken ships off our coasts that could be explored by divers, we have the humpback whales mate off our coast every year.

Others
smoke weed, they've got some of the best shi t u'll ever smoke.
ughh.. swiming?
Whats there not to do?
They have allot of active things to do: bike the mountain trails, dive, para sail, horse back riding, etc. If you search Dominican Republic, sites will come up that will give you info that you are looking for!
depends on where you are.
if you want to go to a beach resort, there's swimming, kayaking*, minigolfing*, sailing, horsebackriding*, and a lot more. Some resorts also have this little "market" on Sat. nights, where u can bargain jewelry, wooden statues, clothing, and little statuetes; can be paid for in pesos, US dollars, and some places, euros. I would personally recommend the Princess resorts, but I also liked some in Bayahibe.
If you're in Sto. Dgo., you can go to the Colonial Zone, where a lot of historical buildings are located, go to a few malls(Diamond Mall, Plaza Lama, Bella Vista Mall), go to the Christofer Colombus lighthouse, Los Tres Ojos (some caves), and el malacon, a street on the southern beach, where on Sundays the traffic is cut off and you can walk along, bike, and fly kites. A good hotel is the Dominican Fiesta. There's a swimming pool, soccer field, basketball court, and 6 tennis courts, a bar, casino, and banquet rooms. Close to that hotel is a long park where you can walk or bike, and in the afternoon you can walk on the street behind it.
