The best way to go from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana is head east to the Autovia del Este, go past San Pedro De Macor铆s, keep driving towards La Romana, then past Higuey, then keep reading the signs that will guide you towards Punta Cana. If I was a tourist going to one of the resorts, I would arrange transportation on a bus that would take me there. Others Correct no need for the Mountain route. santodomingo to puenta cana you have to go threw the montain reguardless but there is only two ways to get there one take the high way to moca and go towards puerto plata or head towards samana where i use to live and its a strait 4 hour shot to get there We just did this last week. There are no buses that go directly from Sto.Dgo. to Punta Cana. If you are a tourist who wants to take it easy and/or speaks very little Spanish, then it would be best to arrange a charter flight from Sto.Dgo. to Punta Cana. If, however, you do speak enough Spanish to get by and do want to experience some culture, then ask almost any taxista to take you to the autobus station that has buses going to Higuey. At Higuey you hop onto another bus to Punta Cana, there are a few, just ask. We took the one to Bavaro. It was actually kind of fun, especially the last bus, it's more guagua style. Everyone in the DR was really helpful and we got to where we needed to without a problem, but we also spoke Spanish. |
