The southern part of the coastal area is influenced by the Humboldt Ocean Current, so our Winter and Sping are their "warm season". The other half of the year would be their "cool season". Keep in mind Ecuador is on the Equator, "cool" is good, "warm" is unbearable. The northern coast is warm year round. In the highlands it is spinglike most of the year, it rains heavily from April-May and it is very dry from June-September.

If you want to go to the beach: now is the time. If you want to go to the Andean Region, go on August or July. Christmas time would be in between, nice weather on all fronts.
