Has anyone on here travelled from Ecuador through to Peru and then Chile? |
Travel Info I would like to know as part of my travelling the world, did you encounter any problems at borders etc. Any other info would be appreciated. Cheers chuckles! Travel Tips Depends where you're from. I am from the UK and I never had any trouble, although I think going into Peru they searched everyone's bags on a table at the border crossing. Everywhere else we just walked through (this was 2002). The only trouble we had was flying from Panama to Colombia, where they stuck my girlfriend in a military gaol for the night because they don't like Irish people. I could have stayed on, but I really didn't want to after that. http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/... Others I have only traveled from Ecuador to Per煤 by bus, but although it's very cheap, I would say it's better avoid buses from country to country, it's better to fly. You might run into some "authorities" that for starters won't speak English and will always try to find the way to rip you off or go through your stuff, even more if you don't speak their language either. plane tickets from Guayaquil/Ecuador to Lima/Per煤, are around 250-300 (american dollars). Ecuadorian currency is the American dollar, so you won't experience problems with exchange rates. I did it three times. Ecuadorian side ok. Peruvian side bad. The best way is with a international bus where you dont have to do it solo. Also try to pick a time when all the deviots are watching soccer. Like saturday. |
