Other Travel Tips There are many varied attractions in Scotland from mountains to Lochs to castles to battle sites. Here is the official Scottish Tourist Board sites.... http://www.visitscotland.com/ http://www.visithighlands.com/ http://www.visitscottishheartlands.com/... http://www.scot-borders.co.uk/ http://www.visithebrides.com/ They should keep you busy for a while..... Good Luck! Modified 1 year ago In my opinion, Edinburgh is fantastic. So much history. the streets and old buildings are gorgeous, the castle is very interesting, and there are some great little pubs. Stirling Castle is a short drive away. Again, heaps of history. And the William Wallace (Braveheart) Monument with sword are there too. Inverness is cute. Its very close to Lochness, and Cullloden Moor (fascinating Jacobite battlefield), and many many whisky distilleries. The scenery in the Highlands is incredibly beautiful, especially around Glen Nevis. And up north, the Orkney Islands are out of this world. Skara Brae, the little village that was uncovered in a massive storm in the 1800s. Its older than Stonehenge AND the Pyramids. Orkney is truly amazing. So - where are the best tourist attractions in Scotland? They are everywhere - you really cannot go wrong. BUT - I would recommend that at the very, very least, you see Edinburgh and the Highlands!!! They can't be missed My travels Definetly edinburgh, but travel north too. Also Ben Nevis in the west is a must see. visit www.visitscotland.com |
