How hard is life in Edmonton Canada? |
Travel Info How hard is life in Edmonton Canada? Travel Tips I live in Edmonton, and it's not hard at all...it all depends on who you hang with, and stuff like that. I wouldn't recommend walking alone at night near 95 St area, or the 118th Ave area east side, or you might get picked up, mistaken as a hooker! Edmonton is a great city, people here are really friend and out-going, and you can easily find a job because EVERYONE is hiring!! We also have a lot of festivals in the spring/summer/fall times, and of course have West Edmonton Mall, the biggest mall in the world. Edmonton's a good place. If you need some help getting around, send me a message and I'll be happy to help. Hope this helps you out. Source(s): Albertan by birth, Edmontonian by choice. Other Travel Tips Well, I don't know in what respect you are asking, but Edmonton's got it's pros and cons like any other city. It's a big city, and the public transportation system is pathetically underdeveloped. This is definitely a city where having a car provides a very distinct advantage. The Weather here is strange. Summers are becoming cooler and rainer, winters are milder and drier. When it is hot, you have to start and end the day in a jacket or sweater, but by 1 pm, you're roasting like a ham. In the winter, there's always issues with snowplowing to irritate Edmontonians. And then there's the government. Say what you will about the political orientation of the party in power, but it just seems like the Provincial government heavily favours Calgary over Edmonton, so our schools and community services seem to lag behind our friends to the south. But I guess it's no harder to live here then anywhere else, cause something is always wrong somewhere. |
