Does anyone know .....? |
Travel Info the names of the two cities that functioned as capitols for Lower Egypt and Upper Egypt in the Dynastic era? Travel Tips ohhh thank you for lightening the mood well i know HELIOPOLIS: and Buto. Others Pi- Ramesse and Tanis Memphis served as Egypt's capital during the fourth to eighth dynasties. Don't know any others - not as well versed in ancient Egypt as you are. But interested to know the correct answer. Perhaps Thebes (now known as Luxor)? Per-hapi-on (the river house of On), the port of Heliopolis. Mispronounced and became known as Babylon. Lower Egypt: Heracleopolis until it was defeated by the Thebans during a civil war making Thebes the capital. I thought Sais --Metelis. Abydos and Memphis are the sanctuary cities Leopolis and renamed Heliopsilis later Buto as it mentions the kings of Buto. well we learn something every day. and we are back to my favorite pastime. as it says myegypt i agree with sabrina !!!! I agree with "sabrina". The amazing thing, that Heliopolis is now a small area in Cairo! WOW! this country grew alot, and we are still living in 1% of the land. I LOVE EGYPT! |
