Travel Info Any ideas for a fun night out? (Going to Glaway for the weekend so need 2 know whats 4 doin ther)? Travel Tips This is a matter of subjective judgement, but I enjoyed the Lyndon House restaurant (on the north side of Eyre Square). My favorite pubs are King's Head and Quays. For entertainment, the Druid Theater is worth checking out. If you are there an entire weekend, I would strongly recommend taking a trip to Clifden (about an hour west). Take the N59. The drive takes you through the heart of rugged Connemara -- it is beautiful. There are some good restaurants and pubs in Clifden. Have a great trip. Others Unfortunately, my favorite pub in Galway, Hollywood's, was scheduled to meet with the wrecking ball last spring. I was there shortly before the demolition and there was talk of either setting up shop elsewhere in the city or waiting out the new construction and opening in the same location. It was named after the original owner, Tom Hollywood, and was located on Forster St. across from the Forster Inn. For other suggestions, try the local website below. If you do find Hollywood's Pub, make sure to ask the bartender to sing you a song. You won't be disappointed. http://www.galway.net Fish and Chips im Mcdonaghs, a band in 'Roisin Dubh' and then 'Cuba' nightclub. The possibilities are endless depends what your into really GO TO THE KEYS BAR when you get there. My girlfriend and I had so much fun with 7 Irish Bachelors. We went to another after hours nightclub a few blocks away. |
