Is it possible for an American citizen to be stranded in Lagos, Nigeria without any money? |
Travel Info I have a so-called friend who is having a difficult time getting out of Lagos, Nigeria, he is constantly asking me to send him money to help pay for his renewal flight back to America, I am being scammed or what Travel Tips He is not your friend...he is scamming you. I know this from personal experience...luckily I figured it out before it cost me any money. Ask him lots of personal questions...challenge his answers if they seem to be contradictory...find out what his job is, why he's there...you get the idea? He will stop being your 'friend' but first he will tell you that you ask too many questions. Ask him for real time photos...like, take a photo right now and post it...he'll have an excuse...DO NOT SEND MONEY, DO NOT CALL! Please do not let this 'fake friend' take you for anything. Others Are you sure that's a friend? Nigeria is famous for scams. It is certainly possible for someone to be out of money anywhere. It is also possible that you are being scammed. Maybe he should go to the US embassy to get home. Sounds & smells like a scam to me!!!! Nigerians are good for scamming people. I've heard similar stories before & I told them I was born in the morning but not this morning. When I told them that my sons were both cops, which they are, they disappeared!!!!!!!!! stranded passengers are usually given a flight to their destination no matter how long it takes. if your friend is a Nigerian, then he can possibly go back to his home until new flight is arranged for the stranded passengers.I don't see why somebody will feel stranded in his country and not have money and continue to stay at the airport and complain like visitors from other countries too. let your mind do the judgment for you. |
