Travel Tips
The Caspian Sea is a landlocked endorheic sea of Eurasia between Asia and Europe. It is the world's largest inland body of water. It has a surface area of 371,000 km虏 (143,000 sq. mi.), and a maximum depth of about 980m (3200 ft). Thus it has characteristics common to both seas and lakes. It is often listed as the world's largest lake, though it is not a freshwater one. It has a salinity of approximately 1.2%, about a third the salinity of sea water. Lake Baikal in Siberia has the largest volume of fresh water in one lake.
Been there.
"Lake Baikal is the largest (by volume), deepest and oldest freshwater lake in the world. A World Heritage Site, it lies in Southern Siberia in Russia."
"However, in surface area, it is exceeded by the much shallower Great Lakes Superior, Huron and Michigan, as well as by the relatively shallow Lake Victoria in East Africa and the second largest in volume, Central Africa's Lake Tanganyika." For more, see www.wikipedia.com
