Yes. I have taken this train many times. Take either 1st class or the 2nd class which has 4 sleeper beds to a compartment. (NEVER take "platzkart" 3rd class) Use common sense, don't draw attention to the fact that you're a foreigner and enjoy one of the nicest ways to get around in Ukraine.
